We may see Execution Rock, spend the night in the Lloyd Point Sand Hole, visit William Vanderbilt's estate in Northport or Teddy Roosevelt's summer White House, Sagamore Hill, in Oyster Bay or fabulous Garvies Point Museum in Glen Cove.
We can sail into Cockenoe Harbor in the Norwalk Islands, ride the sluiceway at Whistle Beach, climb the dunes at Port Jefferson, or visit the lighthouse on Sheffield Island. Further east are the Thimble Islands, Mystic, Watch Hill, Newport and the wild diversity of Long Island's fish tail with the Hamptons, Shelter Island, Hither Hills State Park and Montauk.
A half-day charter on Surprise is usually sailing the western reaches of Long Island Sound with time for swimming and relaxing, a meal if you'd like. On a full-day charter, ports-of-call are available and lunch is served. Stops may include Port Washington, Glen Cove, Oyster Bay, Great Captain's Island with its lighthouse in Greenwich or the best beach and marsh walk this side of Cape Cod at Caumesett SHP at Lloyd Point. If we go for a weekend (Fri PM - Sun PM), along with six marvelous meals, the cruising grounds open up. New York City is available via the East River with a night spent next to Lady Liberty. Huntington Bay is accessible with the Vanderbilt Museum in Centerport, Connecticut's Norwalk Islands are a treat with a National Wildlife Refuge, or perhaps we'll sail to Port Jefferson's Mt. MIsery anchorage and enjoy the fabulous dune climbing with its views. Give us a full week and there's lots to talk about!
